Hypnosis is an induced condition in which the clients' suggestability increases; similar to but NOT sleep, it hightend consciousness NOT unconsciousnes Hypnotherapy allows you to use the power of your mind to assist in creating change and wellness, as well as providing deep relaxation. Our thoughts and attitudes are instrumental in our healing. Under this category also falls guided imagery, visualization, meditative techniques, and stress management. Hypnosis allows for a trance-like state where your attention narrows and focuses. This naturally occurring state is used to explore and/or change thoughts, actions, and feelings. Since all Hypnosis is Self-Hypnosis, it is not something done to you; it is something the Hypnotherapist does with you. The client’s participation is an essential part of the process. A skilled hypnotherapist guides the client into a relaxed state in which suggestions are more readily accepted. The AMA officially approved hypnotherapy in 1958. Diverse applications include stress relief, childbirth, chronic pain control, enhancing memory, improved study skills, various dental applications, improved concentration, smoking cessation, weight loss, and assisting wellness and health recovery through improved attitudes and use of imagery techniques. Amazing as it may seem, the powers of hypnosis have been well known and used for thousands of years, yet at this day in the twenty first century hypnosis is still an art so clouded with mystery that the majority of the population have little, to no understanding of it at all, so little in fact that many people even doubt that there is such a thing as hypnosis. We do have at this time, much evidence supporting the use of hypnosis from as far back in time as two thousand years B.C., and I for one am of the belief that our humanly population could not exist without hypnosis, because humanity could never have advanced in any form to what it is today without the ability to.....simply go inside, and focus your attention upon one thought....that's right...and allow that thought to grow...as you notice.... the intricacies of what may pass inside.... Man is the only form of life on earth with such an ability, which is the very reason why, we have climbed to the top of the food chain. Our ability to think, dream, and construct those dreams, into the reality of what others at one time would have considered the power of a deity. Hypnotherapy is all about going inside....and dreaming that dream....eventually....learning how....to do....and become.....all, that we desire. What is the difference between hypnotherapy and solo meditation? Both achieve the same state of mind, but with hypnotherapy, the therapist is there to guide and support you, potentially accomplishing much more in a session. Change from the inside out.
